The hubby acquired a fancy new digital scale last week so Wednesday Weigh-Ins will commence tomorrow. And when I say this scale is fancy… let’s just say the directions aren’t on the bathroom counter because we’re too lazy to put them away.
Looks intimidating doesn’t it? No? Oh, please don’t tell me it’s just me!

The thing is nearly double the size of our old, primitive scale. It tracks body fat composition, body weight, body mass index, bone mass and body hydration. Yes, hydration. The darn thing fusses at us for not drinking enough water! I’m just glad it doesn’t actually talk.
It records up to four user profiles (those buttons down the middle) so Daryl and I each have one. The profiles help track your progress to a goal by calculating the difference between your starting weight, your previously saved weight and your goal weight. It even saves your history so you can see how you’re progressing over time.
I’m thinking I should stock up on AA batteries soon.
I like that I can get the information I care most about on the first screen: current weight & change from previous saved weight with a little arrow that shows if that change is up or down. You can scroll through other screens showing the rest of the information it tracks.
The very last display screen shows your “total progress” including how many more pounds you have to go to achieve your goal weight. Maybe someday that’ll be a fun screen to consult, but at this point it’s a little overwhelming for me to look at.
I’m a bit surprised the thing didn’t come with a remote control for scrolling through all the info screens, though I guess that wouldn’t exactly promote weight loss.
